Wax Strip Kiss Coater 

Proctor & Gamble - 2021
Objective: Create a novel method for coating thin wax strips with a layer of paraffin wax

Results: The kiss coater needed to keep the paraffin wax completely melted while not heating the wax strips enough such that they would not melt but still get an even application of a thin, even, and smooth layer of paraffin wax. Different combinations of pre/post-doctoring the wax, temperature of the wheel and basin, and adjusting contact time and pressure were all tested to find the ideal combination to get the desired finish on the strips. Then I redesigned the model in SolidWorks to match the parameters found in testing.
